Enrollment & Withdrawal
A student’s name may be placed on a waiting list if a class has filled. If a spot opens in the class, it will be offered to the next student in the queue and tuition will be pro-rated for the weeks of missed classes only previous to enrollment. If any student wishes to withdraw from a class, a 30 day advance notice would be appreciated. Classes with four students or less may be canceled.
Students should plan to arrive 10 minutes before class is scheduled to start. This will allow time to dress, change shoes, and be ready to start class on time. During class, there is no talking, goofing around, gum, food or candy, and no sweetened drinks. Only water is allowed on the marley. A student may not leave the floor without permission from the instructor.
All students are required to show respect towards the instructor and their class mates at all times. Kind words and actions will be encouraged to create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone. Before and after class, students may talk and visit, but the same respect for others required during class will be expected and enforced. At no time will bullying, rude comments about another student, or aggressive behavior be tolerated. It is not the job of any student to correct their classmates.
Illness, Absence, & Late Arrival
If a student must be absent or late for class due to illness, travel, or any other reason, please notify us in advance by phone or email. If a student arrives more than 10 minutes late to class they must wait at the studio entrance until the teacher invites them to enter the class. If a student is consistently late they may be asked to sit and watch class.
Please don’t send your child or come to class if there is fever, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea symptoms. Parents are expected to arrive promptly to pick up their children when a class ends. Instructors cannot supervise a child until a parent arrives. They must teach the next class.
Rehearsals & Performances
WCB’s Artistic Director will design performances for the purpose of showcasing student’s work as well as sharing scriptural truths. These presentations are open to the public. Students will participate in a Spring and Christmas performance ministry. A Performance Fee is required to be turned in by the deadline each semester or student will not be allowed to participate.
The Performance Fee will be applied toward the auditorium rental, printing costs for promotional materials and programs, construction of props and backdrops, any needed technical services, the purchase (or) creation of costumes, and laundry or dry cleaning services for costumes. Some leotards, tutus, or dance dresses may become the property of students. In this case it will be the responsibility of the parent or student to acquire any needed alterations and submit the finished garment for the dress rehearsal and performance(s).
Attendance of both the Tech and Dress rehearsals by students is expected to participate in any performance. Class and rehearsal attendance will determine casting decisions.
Tuition & Fees
The school year consists of two semesters, each with approximately 13 to 16 weeks of classes. Tuition can be paid in full each semester or divided into 4 monthly payments for each semester. A 5% family discount is offered after paying the regular tuition rate for the student at the highest level or rate.
A $5 late fee will be applied to any payment not received within 5 days of each due date and every 5 days thereafter until paid. Sign up for auto pay on-line through your Studio Director account (credit or debit card) or choose auto pay bank draft or personal check (mail to PO box to arrive before due date). We do not accept post-dated checks.
A non-refundable registration fee is due per student at the beginning of each semester to provide liability insurance and supplies necessary to complete registration and student records.
Private coaching and lessons may be scheduled by appointment for $50 per hour or $30 per half-hour.
There are no refunds for fees or tuition. In cases of injury or serious illness, please contact the director or office administrator.
Use of Choreography
Any choreography learned in class or for our performances, or appearing on our performance DVDs shall require permission from the choreographer and/or Artisic Director, as well as proper credit, to be utilized in any other performance venue.
Every student must register online to participate in classes. If any information changes during the semester, the parent or student must change their Studio Director account online or contact the studio with the new information. Especially important are correct email addresses and phone numbers, as our communication with you is dependent on this information.
It may be necessary to cancel classes due to inclement weather. If Jessamine County Public Schools are closed, the director will make a decision about canceling afternoon/evening classes by Noon. If classes are cancelled, an email will be sent out and a notice will be posted on our Facebook fan page. Make ups for classes canceled due to weather will be added at the end of the semester.
